Basketball Coaching Clinic held in Takoradi

During the weekend, a two day coaching/basketball clinic was held at the Air Force Base in Takoradi. Coaches Brad and Bill from Los Angeles in the United States conducted the clinics with 10 coaches from the Western and Central Region. There were also males and female players from both regions in attendance. Cape Coast Hoops Coach and Hoops Care International had three of their kids and directors also in attendance. The clinic focused on defensive and offensive drills. At the end, both coaches were highly impress with the level of maturity the players and coached showed proving that basketball is far ahead fundamentally in these two regions.

Armah dazzles at Juco Showcase

Daniel Armah, aka “The Accra Assassin”, got a chance to show Lakeland’s coach Cedric Brown his skills recently at Rick Ball’s Juco Showcase in Chicago.
Armah not only was the leading rebounder but also finished as the 3rd leading scorer. Coach Brown was very pleased with his newest recruit and has alot of confidence in his ability.
Speaking with Coach Brown last week also revealed that Armah has had a growth spurt and is now a legitimate 6′ 7″. When asked about the growth Armah simply replied “I hope I grow to 6′ 8″. We hope you grow as well Dan and feel confident you will have a breakout season with Lakeland

HOOPS power forwards for the USA

Two of Cape Coast HOOPS power forwards, Emmanuel Bassaw and Desmond Amadi, both 6'9" have been granted US Visa to enable them fly to the USA. Both players and the team are in high spirit on getting the news. Both will be playing in the collegiate league in the USA. We will keep you updated. More players are on departure list and we will update you on them as well at the appropiate time. The program is open to all basketball players both in and outside the country.
